Rabbit Felix
Rabbit Felix, postcard |
Received on: 24 Sep, 2011
Sender: Kovdula from Marsberg, Germany
There is illustration from the German children’s book series "Letters from Felix" by Annette Langen & Constanza Droop (since 1994). There are also animated series based on this book.
Rabbit Felix is Sophie's favorite toy. When he accidentally gets lost she’s completely heartbroken. One day, a letter from London arrives for her. She discovers that the letter is from Felix, her toy rabbit! London is only the beginning: Soon further letters arrive from Rome, Paris, Egypt and all parts of the world. Sophie can hardly wait until he gets back and she can give him a really big hug.
By the way, I've got the brand-new stamp - Aquarium, "For us children" series, issued on 15 September 2011, Germany.

Giraffe family at sunrise
Giraffe family at sunrise, postcard |
Received on: 23 Sep, 2011
Sender: Lærke from Swindon, United Kingdom
Giraffe family at sunrise. Kenya. Photo by Gabriela Staebler.
Female giraffes give birth every 20 months, usually to one calf, which can stand within 20 minutes of being born. "I don't know if these two youngsters were related", said Gabriela, "but I waited until they were on either side of the female".
The postcard was sent from Denmark, as Lærke was on business trip there, hence I have my first Danish stamps now. It was a problem to register this card because of incorrect ID. But Postcrossing Support helped me to find right number within 1 day. Great job!
